ICC Cricket World Cup 2011: Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is one of the hosts of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and that will be a massive improvement to them. The main cause for this is that they rely majorly on their spinners and the tracks in Sri Lanka are complete of backing for the slower bowlers. Secondly, the Sri Lankan Batmans have a hard top-order – Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara and T Dilshan have all been good strikers of the ball. With Upul Tharanga having come into the double as well it augurs well for the top four for the Lankans. What will be hard for the Island population is their middle-order. The likes of Thilan Samaraweera and Chamara Kapugedera have not been talented to do too well with the bat in current times and that will be where there could be question marks. Lasith Malinga will be one of persons to watch out for, as Suraj Randiv has been left out of the side after the selectors sure to play Muralitharan and Rangana Herath.
